21 Church leaders from CPR Church Members including CPR’s General Secretary attended a capacity building seminar in Nairobi, 2-7 October 2011. The seminar was organised jointly by CPR and AACC.
Participants discussed issues of theological framework of stewardship, Sharing leadership experience; strategic planning; strengthening togetherness and the challenges of unify of churches in Africa.
In addition, they were exposed to the achievements of churches in Kenya in the area of sustainability: they visited the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA); the National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK); the Methodist Church of Kenya and the Anglican Church of Kenya. They were extremely impressed by what they saw and committed to launch a jitegemee movement (do it ourselves) into Rwanda to be able to initiate a vision and actions that lead Rwandan churches to sustainability.
At the end of the seminar they issued a message to sister churches in Africa and to Christians.
